WELCOME TO FIRST PRES YAKIMA!

Our Purpose at First Pres:
REACHing those unconnected to Jesus and together,
WORSHIPing God and GROWing in Christ-like maturity,
IMPACTing our community and the world.

Welcome to the online world of First Presbyterian Church Yakima (FPC). We hope that with a few clicks you are able to find out about the life and community of FPC Yakima. And we hope you discover that you are welcome here.

We don’t want to give you the impression that we have our lives perfectly in order. In fact, those connected with FPC are real people with real struggles discovering the grace, forgiveness, mercy and power of God in Jesus. We are on a journey that starts with this lifetime and continues way beyond the here and now. By the work of God in our life we hope to live out what we believe, even if imperfectly at times, in our homes, friendships, schools, workplaces, church, the Yakima Valley and around the world. Together we live and love, learn and grow, worship and serve because of God’s love for us offered in Jesus. Those unconnected to Jesus will find a place to begin at FPC. For those already along the way FPC is a place to grow deeper in faith. Together we discover the love and power of God as we impact our community and world.

“Jesus answered, … ‘the Lord our God, the Lord is one; and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’  The second most important command from God is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”  Mark 12.29-31
